ALTAR SERVING
The ministry of Altar Serving is open to men, women, boys, and girls (5th grade and up). The main role of an Altar Server is to assist the Priest and Deacon in the celebration of the liturgy. The training video can be viewed on our Youtube Channel.

CANTOR
Cantors are important leaders of the singing assembly. They direct the congregation's participation in the Gathering, Preparation, Communion, and Recessional songs and lead the singing of the Mass parts, especially at Masses when no choir is present.

CARD MINISTRY
This ministry was formed in 2011 and is comprised of members of St. Bernadette that create handmade greeting cards for parishioners and their family members for various events and other circumstances including anniversaries, get well, sympathy, Baptisms, Confirmation, First Communion and graduations. They also work with a list of homebound parishioners that receive monthly thinking of you cards and birthday greetings. They welcome any help to their ministry, whether it be creating cards, assisting in addressing envelopes or donating postage, envelopes, cardstock and other supplies. You can also request a handmade care be mailed to someone via the request forms at the Card Ministry Box located in the narthex.

CARE MINISTRY
The Care Ministry program at St. Bernadette serves to follow in Jesus' footsteps as he cared for the sick, lonely and suffering. Care Ministers are specially trainined individuals who visit people who are homebound, in nursing homes, lonely or experiencing a difficult time such as the loss of a loved one or an illness. They will bring the loving present of Jesus through care, compassionate listening, prayer and Holy Communion if desired. The nature and frequency of visits is determined by mutual agreement.

CATHOLIC RESOURCES LIBRARY
The library contains multimedia and literature on many valuable subjects. Besides books, the Catholic Resource Library houses books on CD, videos, and music CD's. Volunteers are needed to help catalouge the materials.

CHOIR
Resurrection (Funeral) Choir
This choir ministers at funeral liturgies. Rehearsals and liturgies are as needed. Individuals with a flexible schedule are encouraged to join.
Seraphim Choir
This traditional choir leads the community in singing praise. Rehearsals are at 6:30 pm on Wednesdays.
Renewed Spirits Choir
The emphasis of this choir is contemporary liturgical music. Rehearsals are at 6:30 pm on Thursdays.

CHURCH CLEANING
Volunteers assist in cleaning the church for 1.5 to 2 hours on a monthly basis during weekday mornings, afternoons, and Thursday evenings. Keep our church beautiful.

ENVIRONMENT
The Church Environment Team plans the seasonal decorations of the church in such a way that the environment reinforces, communicates, and celebrates the liturgical season. A planning committee meets prior to Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Ordinary Time.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Many parishioners are involved in this ministry of distributing the Sacred Bread and Wine. Training takes less than 15 minutes and you decide when you would like to be scheduled. EVANGELIZATION MINISTRY
Don't let the word "Evangelization" stop you from reading on. While some may associate the word evangelization with individuals who show up at your door with a Bible and want to convert you to a particular religion, evangelization is really about sharing the Good News of Jesus with the people we meet on a daily basis through our words and actions. Evangelization can be as simple as opening a door for someone with a smile. The goal of the Evangelization Ministry is to create opportunities to learn and deepen our faith.

FINANCE COUNCIL
This council helps our parish provide financial stewardship of all the activities and ministries we support. Members use their business experience, knowledge of the parish and its people, and the religious ideals of the Church to help the pastoral staff make sound financial and business decisions. The team meets monthly to review financial statements, set budgets and financial priorities, and generally provides parish input and advice for the pastoral staff.

FUNERAL LUNCHEONS
Funeral Lunchoens consists of a group of volunteers who offer luncheons for families after funerals held at St. Bernadette Parish. The luncheons are served in Our Lady of Lourdes Fellowship Hall immediatly after a funeral Mass. Entrees usually consist of ham or turkey sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans and the fixings. The food is prepped by the volunteer luncheon team. Families who do not wish to go out to a restaurant are charged for the luncheon and use of the cafeteria.

HEALTH CARE MINISTRY
Health Care Ministry is led by two specially trained RNs and supported by many other nurses. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life of our parishioners by addressing health needs through a holistic approach (mind, body & soul). We currently offer the following: monthly blood pressure screenings, bi-monthly newsletters, Care Ministry visits and educational material on our bulletin board and table. We also will do consulatations or home visits on request.

HUMAN CONCERNS COMMITTEE
The purpose of this committee is to assist the parish in responding to Jesus' command to love our neighbor by addressing social justice issues and the needs of all people. LITURGY OF THE WORD WITH CHILDREN
Liturgy of the Word with Children offers children, ages 4 through about 12, the opportunity to hear the readings in language they can understand, and to participate in an activity that helps them relate the stories to their lives. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children, especially if their child is timid at first. Volunteers share the readings and lead the children in a related activity. Leaders are given a simple program to follow.
